Zoom and Google Meet Integration

Zoom and Google Meet Integration

Discussions about a task shouldn’t live in a separate calendar invite nobody can find later. With the Zoom and Google Meet integrations, you can generate meeting links directly on tasks, pull scheduled meetings into your Loomstack agenda, and attach recordings back to the task they were about.

Connecting Zoom

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations
  2. Search for “Zoom” and click Connect
  3. Sign in to your Zoom account and click Authorize
  4. Choose your default meeting settings: waiting room on/off, auto-recording, and default duration

Connecting Google Meet

Google Meet is bundled with the Google Calendar connection:

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations and connect Google Calendar if you haven’t already
  2. In the Google Calendar settings panel, toggle Enable Google Meet links
  3. Loomstack will now create Meet links through your Google account

Adding a Meeting to a Task

  1. Open any task and click Add Meeting in the right sidebar
  2. Choose Zoom or Google Meet
  3. Pick a date, time, and duration — Loomstack suggests times when all task assignees are free, based on their connected calendars
  4. Click Create Meeting

The meeting link appears at the top of the task, and every assignee and follower receives a calendar invite that includes a link back to the task. Anyone opening the invite can read the task context before joining.

Starting Instant Meetings

Need to talk right now? Click Add Meeting > Start instantly on any task, or type /meet in a task comment. Loomstack posts the join link as a comment and pings everyone following the task. This is especially useful for unblocking a stuck task during standup.

Linking Recordings and Notes

If auto-recording is enabled in your Zoom settings:

  1. After the meeting ends, Zoom processes the recording
  2. Loomstack attaches the recording link to the task automatically, under the Meetings section
  3. Click Add notes next to any past meeting to write a summary — notes are searchable like any other task content

For Google Meet, recordings save to the organizer’s Drive; if your Drive integration is connected, Loomstack links the recording file to the task as an attachment.

Removing a Scheduled Meeting

  1. Open the task and find the meeting in the sidebar
  2. Click the three dots next to it and choose Cancel meeting
  3. Loomstack cancels the calendar event and notifies invitees

Canceling in Loomstack also deletes the Zoom meeting, so there are no orphaned links.

Summary

Connect Zoom or enable Meet through the Google Calendar integration, then create scheduled or instant meetings straight from any task. Invites carry task context, recordings link back automatically, and canceled meetings clean up after themselves — so every conversation stays attached to the work it was about.
